I trust you are enjoying your break! Here's your task for half term:
" Write a short report on superconductivity and its uses. "
Consider the points on your specification:
Superconductivity as a property of certain materials which have zero resistivity at and below a critical temperature which depends on the material.
Applications. eg. very strong electromagnets, power cables.
Please, do not try to get away with as little as possible. It will be obvious to see those who have put effort into this and those who haven't. I would expect around 500 words (about 1 side of a printed page) with diagrams in addition.
email me, dpotter@wellsway.bathnes.sch.uk, if you have questions.
p.s. Apologies to the group who have not recieved their test marks back yet. I tried to find you on the last day of term, but you were not in your timetabled room. Mr Probert said you had gone to Mendip. I will give you back your marks in the first lesson back.

Some of the questions are tricky so I will be holding a homework class on Monday lunch. (Strongly recommended.)

Well, I hope everyone has had a happy Easter. I've been to Germany for a few days, where they seem to be obsessed with Easter Bunnies.
I believe Mr Taylor may have already passed on the homework message - please complete the section of your revision book on Hooke's Law, Stress/Strain etc. (ie. the topic we have just covered)
Thanks!
p.s. What exactly is going on with the LHC?!
